An initiative by Dainik Jagran to foster informed citizenship and develop the next generation of public leaders through structured, high-impact parliamentary simulation.
Jagran Youth Parliament recognizes that India's most complex challenges require fresh perspectives, not recycled solutions. JYP is a platform designed to immerse India's brightest minds in exploring ideas through democratic process. Through structured debates and interactive simulations, JYP builds leadership, develops communication skills, and inspires civic engagement.
How to apply (Procedure)
Selection process of JYP is through debate competition only.
For participation in debate competition following procedure is to be followed
Only Under Graduates and Post Graduates students of recognized University/College can apply.
Applicants need to apply in a team of two.
Applicants (Partners) have to fill the information in the same form as participant 1 and participant 2.
All fields of form are mandatory.
Only valid college I-card must be uploaded as proof of identity.
The team has to select from the given motion for the debate.
one member of the team has to debate against the motion and another in favour of the motion.
Applicants have to choose one preferred language from Hindi or English.
Registration confirmation will be shared on the email IDs provided by the applicants.
A pair can register one time only.
Debate competition will be held at college/university level.
The winners will be decided by the jury as a team and not as individuals.
Selected team will be informed through email.

How JYP Works
Debate and Collaborate
6 minutes paired debates at UG & PG level, topic-based argumentation, judged on articulation and logic.
Develop Skills
30-day online training on critical thinking, policy understanding, teamwork, and diplomacy.
Role Play as Parliamentarians
Take roles of MPs & Ministers and engage in real issue debates during 2-day JYP session in Delhi with policymakers.
Program Flow
Phase 1
- Choosing a partner for team debate
- Registration on website
- Selection of Topic
Phase 2
- UG: Participate in college & inter-college debate
- PG: Participate in department & interdepartment debate
- Winners will be selected by jury
- Only winners will be eligible to be the part of JYP
Phase 3
- 15 days training on Parliamentary procedures
- 15 days training on various Bills and Laws
Phase 4
- Selected JYP members to participate in 2-day session in Delhi
- Debate and discussion in presence of policy makers
