An initiative by Dainik Jagran to foster informed citizenship and develop the next generation of public leaders through structured, high-impact parliamentary simulation.

Jagran Youth Parliament recognizes that India's most complex challenges require fresh perspectives, not recycled solutions. JYP is a platform designed to immerse India's brightest minds in exploring ideas through democratic process. Through structured debates and interactive simulations, JYP builds leadership, develops communication skills, and inspires civic engagement.

To empower youth with the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills to actively engage in India’s democratic process and become the voices of progressive change.

How JYP Works

Debate and Collaborate

6 minutes paired debates at UG & PG level,
topic-based argumentation, judged on articulation and logic.

Develop Skills

30-day online training on critical thinking, policy understanding, teamwork, and diplomacy.

Role Play as Parliamentarians

Take roles of MPs & Ministers and engage in real issue debates during 2-day JYP session in Delhi with policymakers.

Program Flow

Phase 1
  • Choosing a partner for team debate
  • Registration on website
  • Selection of Topic
Phase 2
  • UG: Participate in college & inter-college debate
  • PG: Participate in department & interdepartment debate
  • Winners will be selected by jury
  • Only winners will be eligible to be the part of JYP
Phase 3
  • 15 days training on Parliamentary procedures
  • 15 days training on various Bills and Laws
Phase 4
  • Selected JYP members to participate in 2-day session in Delhi
  • Debate and discussion in presence of policy makers
